Acquisition brings leading digital security products and subject matter expertise to one of North America’s fastest growing technology companies.
Fairfax, Virginia. – January 5, 2007. Allen Corporation of America, Inc. (“Allen Corporation”) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of WetStone Technologies, Inc. (“WetStone”), a market leader in products and services supporting malware and steganography investigation, live forensics, intrusion detection and secure time. |
Carl von Sternberg, Allen Corporation’s CEO stated that “The acquisition of WetStone is a key component in Allen's strategy to increase its product and services assets focused on satisfying the rapidly growing IT security requirements of our public and private sector clients”. |
Among the industry leading digital security products to be offered by the new Allen Corporation WetStone Division are:
- The Stego Suite™, the most advanced software bundle available for the investigation, detection, analysis, and recovery of digital steganography. The purpose of steganography is to hide a message from a third party.
- Gargoyle Investigator™ provides for standalone and enterprise based scanning of IT assets, and includes the industry’s most advanced malware detection software package and malware datasets for rapid, in-depth forensic investigations.
- Digital Evidence Time Stamping (“DETS”). Digital evidence is more elusive than any other form of physical evidence because it can be changed with the click of a mouse and without leaving any trace. DETS allows investigators to generate digital evidence timestamps that are cryptographically bound to the data.

Allen Corporation, with its extensive presence in the Government and Fortune 1000 markets has been named by Deloitte as one of the fastest growing Technology companies in North America for three consecutive years. Mr. von Sternberg stated that “the continued rapid growth of Allen Corporation will be fueled both organically and through targeted acquisitions, like WetStone, which bring complementary services and intellectual property assets to the Company”. |
